Individual Note:
     Robert volunteered to serve in the Revolution in 1775, at the age of 15; In
1776 he fought against the Cherokees; In 1777 he was stationed at Ft. Henry on
Long Island of Holston; In 1778 he was at Ft. Robertson, where he fought the
Shawnee Indians; In 1779-80 he served with Gen. Washington in several
campaigns; He served with Gen. Anthony Wayne at the attack on Stoney Point; In
1780 he was transferred South to serve under Gen. Nathaniel Greene. He fought
against Gen. Cornwallis at Guilford Courthouse in 1781; He went back to Ft.
Robertson in 1782; In 1790, Gov. William Blount appointed him Lt.Col. of the
Militia of Washington Co., VA; Robert was a menber of the Washington Co., TN
Legislature before moving to Burke Co., NC; He was a member of NC State
Legislature from 1793-1795; He owned large tracts of land in the area of Mt.
Prospect, later named Waynesville after Gen. "Mad" Anthony Wayne; He donated
much of the land used for City Gov. buildings, several church's and the Green
Hill Cem.; Waynesville is located just SW of Ashville, NC;

Individual Note:
     Thomas served in the Revolution while in his teens; He was referred as General
Love on some occasions; It is not known how he attained this rank; After the
was he went to east Tennessee; He was involved in the John Sevier-Col. Tipton
controversy involving creating the state of Franklin from western NC; Both
Thomas & brother Robert favored NC & Col. Tipton; He was prominent in the
politics of Buncombe Co.; He was State Representative from 1797 to 1809; When
Haywood Co. was formed from Buncombe, he was a Representative until 1820;
In 1830 he moved to Macon Co. where he lived several years before moving to
Western Tennessee; He again became active in politics, acting as presiding
officer of the TN State Senate;
